The California Department of Social Services (CDSS) Legal Division is recruiting to fill one permanent full-time Staff Services Analyst/Associate Governmental Program Analyst (SSA/AGPA) position in the Legal Operations Branch (LOB). The position is located in the Sacramento Headquarters office and reports to a Staff Services Manager I in the Fiscal Special Projects Unit (FSPU). This position is eligible for a hybrid (remote telework and in-office) work schedule.

The SSA/AGPA is an integral member of the LOB team and this dynamic role is responsible for administrative work in the FSPU which is critical to the overall success of the Unit, Branch, and Division. The SSA/AGPA performs administrative analytical duties related to the Legal Division’s business needs and operations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assignments in the areas of training, SharePoint management, process automation, data management, and providing back-up support to other FSPU staff. The SSA/AGPA serves as the Division’s Training Coordinator, helping staff across the Legal Division find the right training opportunities and navigating department resources. The incumbent will coordinate logistics, answer questions, and make sure everything runs smoothly - from registrations to compliance tracking. The incumbent will act as the SharePoint expert for LOB, managing site structure, document libraries, and utilizing automation tools. The SSA/AGPA reviews and optimizes the site for usability, ensuring content is current, accessible, and easy to navigate. This technology focused role supports the Legal Division and LOB by streamlining processes and enhancing efficiency through software applications and systems such SharePoint, GovQA, and Simpligov. It involves collaborating with teams to automate workflows, analyze data trends, and deliver real-time insights that drive smarter decision-making and reduce manual tasks. This work location is very convenient! The CDSS is located two blocks from the light rail and public transportation: within walking distance to the State Capitol, parks, restaurants, farmer’s markets and the Golden 1 Arena. Our building has easy access to I-5, Highway 50, and Highway 80.
This position is eligible for hybrid work in accordance with the Governor’s and at the sole discretion of the Department of Social Services under California Government Code Section 14200. All telework schedules are subject to change and may be re-evaluated at any time. The incumbent will be expected to report for in office work and attend work related in-person events as deemed operationally necessary. Telework does not change the terms and conditions of employment, the essential functions of job duties, or required compliance with the CDSS policies. Headquarter location may be designated on the selected candidate's primary residence location, and/or the closest CDSS location in accordance with operational need and available space. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.
