This position is for an Operating Room Nurse in an acute care hospital setting. The role requires a minimum of two years of experience and expertise in trauma, neuro, vascular, and orthopaedic surgery. Responsibilities include providing skilled nursing care in the operating room, collaborating with the surgical team, and adhering to strict hospital protocols. On-call responsibilities are shared equally amongst the nursing staff.

Responsibilities:
- Providing skilled nursing care during surgical procedures.
- Collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other members of the surgical team.
- Preparing and maintaining the operating room for surgical procedures.
- Assisting with patient positioning, draping, and prepping.
- Monitoring patient vital signs and providing appropriate interventions.
- Maintaining sterile technique and adhering to infection control protocols.
- Managing and documenting surgical supplies and equipment.
- Participating in on-call rotation.
- Floating between similar units as needed.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse license in California.
- Minimum of two years of experience in Operating Room nursing.
- Experience in trauma, neuro, vascular, and orthopaedic surgery.
- BLS certification.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
Special Considerations:
- On-call responsibilities: Shared equally amongst all nursing staff every 6 weeks, potentially involving 6-8 shifts (including nights, evenings, and weekends).
- Variable start times: 7:00 AM, 9:00 AM, and occasionally 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM shifts.
- Weekend requirement: Yes.
- Floating between similar units: Yes.
- Block scheduling: Per manager discretion.
- First-timers accepted: Yes.
- Return to work must be included at time of submission.
Scheduling:
- Variable start times (7:00 AM, 9:00 AM, occasionally 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM).
- On-call rotation every 6 weeks.
- Weekend shifts required.
- Shift assignments determined by the manager, with potential for block scheduling.
