Director of Business Development, Production Services [JRP-06082]

ZapBoomBang Studios is a premier post-production and recording studio based in Houston, Texas. We are recognized for our award-winning work in producing, editing, and finishing audio and video content for TV, radio, and digital platforms—including custom music creation. Our boutique facility is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and powered by a small, passionate team of creative professionals. We serve clients across a wide range of industries—retail, healthcare, oil & gas, automotive, and more—delivering both agency- level service and direct-to-brand solutions. As we expand into digital and social-first content, we’re looking for a driven Director of Business Development to lead our client acquisition and growth strategy.

We’re currently seeking to hire a highly motivated and experienced sales professional to join our team as Director of Business Development, Production Services. In this role, you will play a key part in building new client relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and helping position our studio as a go-to partner for high-quality production and post-production services. The selected candidate will have a strong background in direct sales, preferably within media, marketing, creative services, or a related field.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute business development strategies to expand our client base and increase revenue
  • Develop and maintain a prospect list, leading to a constantly growing portfolio of clients
  • Establish and grow relationships with clients in sectors such as oil & gas, legal, healthcare, corporate marketing, and advertising
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities in digital content and social media content production
  • Prepare compelling presentations, proposals, and pitches that clearly communicate our value and result in sales
  • Collaborate with the production team to scope projects accurately and align on budgets and deliverables
  • Track industry trends and competitive activity to inform outreach strategies
  • Represent the studio at industry events, client meetings, and networking functions
  • Maintain a structured sales pipeline and report regularly on sales performance and forecasting

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years of direct sales and business development experience, ideally in media, creative services, production, or a related industry
  • Proven success in generating leads, closing deals, and maintaining long-term client relationships
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to understand and convey creative and technical production offerings to non- technical decision-makers
  • Able to travel occasionally travel for meetings and industry events
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a fast- paced environment
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to business development
  • Strategic thinker and creative problem-solver
  • Energetic, polished, professional, and client-focused
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport quickly
  • Passionate about creative industries and emerging technologies

Preferred:

  • Experience selling media production, advertising, or marketing services
  • Strong track record and experience in direct sales
  • Familiarity with production or post-production workflows (audio or video)
  • Understanding of digital-first and social media content strategies
  • Established network within the Houston/Texas business or media communities
  • Proficiency in CRM tools and managing sales pipelines
